His name is on the headstock, and he can play. The company has a foundation that was laid from Paul’s experience as a skilled guitar maker and musician and continues to grow based upon his experiences in the studio and on the stage.

Paul Reed Smith Guitars is proud to bring huge single coil tones back into their SE lineup for 2013 with the SE 245 Soapbar. This guitar provides a quality alternative to players seeking a traditional single-cutaway, single-coil instrument. Adaptable to nearly any musical style, PRS SE Soapbar pickups provide additional midrange growl and tight bass response not normally associated with traditional single coils. The combination of these "hot" pickups with a traditional electronics layout of a three-way toggle switch on the upper bout and individual volume and tone controls for each pickup provide versatility with exceptional sonic control.

PRS Guitars Brings the SC245 Back into its Lineup

The Paul Reed Smith SC245 is a vintage-inspired Singlecut perfect for more traditional single-cutaway players. The 24.5” scale length offers a loose, laid-back feel, but the guitar maintains a tight low end and snappy attack. With 57/08 pickups delivering vintage humbucking tone and clear, detailed chords, and the electronics layout of two volume and tone controls, and a 3-way toggle switch on the upper bout, the SC245 is instantly comfortable for players who grew up using short-scale guitars.

PRS Artist Package Now Available on Electric Guitars, Acoustic Guitars, and Amplifiers

New for 2013, PRS Guitars is expanding the popular Artist Package program to include select models across their full Core product line of electrics, acoustics, and amplifiers. The PRS Artist Package program, reintroduced last year for the first time since 2008, carries on the tradition of the original PRS Artist Series (launched more than two decades ago) by providing musicians and collectors the ability to enhance and customize PRS guitars and amps.

Introducing PRS Custom Amp Designs 2-Channel Custom Amplifier

Handmade in Stevensville, Maryland, the PRS 2-Channel Custom 50 & 100 amplifiers are the newest models available through the PRS Custom Amp Design (CAD) program. Similar to PRS’s Private Stock program, Custom Amp Designs explores new, enhanced, and personalized amplifier options. The 2-Channel Custom, for example, takes the popular 2-Channel “H” to the next level by adding several additional features to help musicians shape their tone. These versatile and articulate amplifiers are well suited for alternate tunings.

PRS Guitars’ Exclusive Collection Series VI Instruments by Private Stock Now Available

Introduced in the fall of 2011, PRS Guitars’ Collection Series instruments are built in small batches by the company’s Private Stock department. Each Collection Series consists of one electric and one acoustic guitar made with the most exacting methods and the most prized components in the company’s possession, including pernambuco necks and fingerboards, which are exclusive to the Collection program. For the fourth installment in PRS Guitars’ Collection Series, Paul Reed Smith and the Private Stock team have designed two stunning instruments: the Series VI Custom 24 electric and the Series IV Collection Angelus acoustic.

One Night One Show One Cause Concert with JOURNEY

Journey rocked the Lyric Opera House in Baltimore and helped PRS Guitars and Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center raise approximately $300K for the Living With Cancer Resource Program at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Journey donated their time to perform the concert, which also featured a pre-concert fashion show by Real Housewives starlet Michaele Salahi and guitar auction.
